In 2006-07 a coach relatively new to the Big 12, Gary Blair, took Texas A&M, a team with no history of success prior to his arrival, to the top of the conference. He followed the pattern set by Sherri Coale of Oklahoma and Kim Mulkey of Baylor. In 2007-08, Gail Goestenkors takes over a Texas program with a strong history of success. She will try to match their performances.
